Conventional wisdom says rate hikes are bad for stocks. The data says not so fast. Look at this chart. 1997. The Fed hiked rates and the S&P 500 was up nearly 40% one year later. 2004. Hikes started and the market was up 5.6% a year out. 2015. Barely a scratch. Yes, 1987 and 2022 were ugly. Nobody is pretending otherwise. But the idea that a rate hike automatically means stocks go down is not supported by the historical record. It depends on why rates are rising, how fast they rise, and what the economy is doing underneath it all. Chart @_JoshSchafer

Corporate insiders are buying tech stocks at a record pace: 28 executives at companies within the US technology sector ETF, $XLK, have purchased their own stock on the open market over the last 6 months, the highest count on record, according to SentimenTrader. This figure has DOUBLED since the start of 2026. This also surpasses the previous record of 25 insiders set in 2011. By comparison, in early 2025, just 5 executives were buyers. US executives are rushing to buy tech stocks.

BREAKING: Global equity funds attracted +$56.4 billion in inflows in the week ending Wednesday, July 8th, the 4th-largest weekly inflow this year. This brings the 4-week average of total equity fund inflows up to +$40.0 billion, the 2nd-largest on record. The weekly surge was driven by technology funds that posted +$18.8 billion in inflows, the 2nd-largest on record. As a result, the 4-week average of inflows into tech funds are up to +$11.0 billion, an all-time high. Technology funds are now also on track for a record +$183 billion in total annual inflows in 2026. Investors are rushing into tech stocks like never before.
